- Trainpeople – The stolen glance – Moleskine Notebook Sketch
I don’t often try to put people in “situations” when I draw them, (except Miss Doodle) , on the contrary, I isolate them from their context, mainly cause I don”t have the time and also because that would be boring, as the context is always the same old train.
It is interesting to pick one person, separate her from the surroundings, and draw that person, fix it on a sheet of blank paper. There’s only her and me. The lady I drew this morning looked at me all the time, and I didn’t want to make her uncomfortable, as that would have made ME uncomfortable, so I just stole some glances:) , sketching without looking at her too much, hiding behind my lowered eyelids:).
My studio is quite nice. It has light, it is tri-angular, it is my kitchen too. The studio has three windows and one door, and a circular wooden staircase which leads to the room upstairs.
It has a leather chair, Oscar’s favourite, (and Oscar and Knut are often fighting for that chair:) - also an old Ikea chair which makes your butt ache after little time;) it has a big working table, and a dining table with 4 chairs. The kitchen is where I cook, (or not lol) and mix my pigments, it has a nice wooden bar and there are two barchairs. The cats like to sit on the bar, or walk around the kitchen area in general….They also like to sit by the window on that little wooden closet, look out on the street and greet the people walking by.
