I take photos from magazines or my own photos, glue them into my sketchbook and when I’m on the train, I draw.

I think I cut this out from a Bonsai Magazine, but I’m not sure anymore… a multibreasted treetrunk. I draw some lines with an inkpen, and finished the painting with a pencil. So, as you can see, now I’m more into trees than into metroheads:)…

I found this book in a “used book” shop around the corner, in the 11th Arrondissement on the Boulevard Voltaire. It has sitting on a shelf for a while, I haven’t read it, and won’t probably. Yesterday I was so inspired by the title which means “The Bird of the Ruins” in English, that I painted this little scene on the cover…

Suddenly: What do pigs look like?

Suddenly, in between thoughts about where I’d like to live, (at the see, or in the mountains, at home or abroad:) I asked myself: “what do pigs look like, how do I draw them??” Then I drew one from memory. I promised myself to do some research about pigs….

This is a friendly one, but anyway, I can’t imagine pigs other than friendly. When I was little (still today, I guess) and had the occasion to go into a pigsty, I loved watching and touching the pigs, especially the little ones. And their snouts. Love their snouts, they feel special:)

Journal Page – This is from a personal art Journal I passed on to a dear blogfriend. I used a little Chinese folding journal, the paper drinks the watercolor immediately. Watercolor, Acrylic Paint, Watercolor sticks, inkpen. I used acrylic medium to fix the watercolor and acrylic paint washes.

The seal-mark is my person seal mark with my logo AHdp in the middle, my name and the words “limited edition” in the circle around the logo. It is pressed into the paper, with prongs bearing a round metallic seal.
