A German Garden – Ein deutscher Garten

My Father’s Garden – Ink, Oil on paper (Canson 250 mg,24 x 32 cm)

There I sat, in the Garden, with 35 degrees (in the shadow),  ink stains on my hands, the wonderful smell of oil color and turpentine oil, the light was intense and so the sketch turned out very intense too. Back in Paris now, where I visited two exhibitions yesterday, more about that in the next post.

  3. This is truly beautiful! Your father is an amazing gardener and you are an amazing painter. It seems as though artistic ability runs in the family :) I love these colors and the composition is fabulous! Quite Beautiful! Peace, Kim

  4. I remember your fathers garden from previous posts – it’s so beautiful as is your painting. lovely to see you

  5. Hi Mim, so nice to read you here! This garden is always my main inspiration when I’m there, in spring, summer and autumn. In winter, I let it slepp:)

  6. Do you still get to go as long to visit your Parents these days? or do you just go more often for shorter periods of time. I bet your Cat misses the Garden. What a lovely interpretation of their Garden. Its very lush and inviting. I saw this and meant to come sooner to comment but we are so busy critter sitting a lot these days and if not doing that we are working in our garden. Summer time is for being outside. Time enough to be stuck inside when winter comes. :)

  7. Dear Cris, Thanks for coming, I know how it is in Summer, sure you have to be outside!:) Now I go more often for shorter periods to see my parents, and as I don’t have a car, can’t take the cats. Oskar sure misses it, but what can you do. Knut has never seen it, so he doesn”t know what to miss:) He likes to sit at the open window in my flat and look at what is going on outside!:)
