My Vision of Fashion

Big Angel's Evening Gown - Moleskine Notebook Entry while metroing

…where visions come from. The vision of my big angel has probably to do with my love for textiles and Haute-Couture, but also with the many human beings I see here daily. No!  People are not walking around in extravagant evening gowns in the Paris Metro, but there are so many differently shaped faces and bodies fusing into my intuitive sketching.

This kind of “Drawing from inside” works well with a very fine ink-pen (0.1mm), just letting the lines float into the hand, into the pen and softly on the paper. Oh, don’t think. Just look and let grow…

Andrea, this is truly beautiful. It is truly remarkable how that pen just knows what you are needing at the time, isn’t it? I love to allow that to happen, too, although I am no where as good at achieving anything recognizable as you are! The colors are magnificent, too! The textures your pen created are amazing and nicely varied (something I struggle with). I can imagine you are really inspired by all of the haute couture when has been flashing around France lately with the film festival(s), too.

    As always truly beautiful work!

      Andrea,

to work with intuition when you got the technic is a good thing and has to do with trusting oneself.
So,your way of doing is an excellent idea.

your angel has energic wide shoulders and shows her back side. Are you sure she is not disguised?
I like the theatralic attitude from the woman and of course the colours.

  2. Tu as raison Andrea… Même à paris parfois on croise des anges ! très beau dessin.

  5. This is really beautiful and yes has an attitude of the theatralical. LIke Grace Kelly almost. Love the colors you used and melded into each other. I wish I could think something up and get it down on paper like you do. Le Sigh. :) )
