Eventually I got around sending those Paris Souvenirs out today, to Elizabeth, Christina and Mirela (and an additional little thing to Cris in Oregon because I knew she already wanted to win this in last years giveaway:). Debra hasn’t “claimed” her’s yet, I hope she’ll send me her address soon….
This weekend I plan to visit an exhibition in the Musée d’Art Moderne, I’ll talk about that next week. In the meantime I have other nice topics waiting for me to be processed into a watercolor painting, a blogpost and words:), for instance pictures of Luxembourg, pictures of a yardsale “vide-grenier”in the 5th arrondissement, pictures of famous “Berthillon” icecream boxes….
For now, here a little illustration of Parisians and their dogs, you know, dogs are ubiquitous in this city and so is their poop! When I put the name of the street in the painting, “Rue de Rivoli” and then filled it out with blue, the blue deleted part of the R from rue (=street) so that it read Pue de Paris which you could translate with: stink of Paris, but I shouldn’t say this here cause sometimes there are also nice dogowners who remove the unwanted item immediately and with grace…Have a wonderful Weekend!

Dogowners and everyone else should always be sensitive about what they leave on the street.
Last night someone put his old couch in front of my door.
It has been taken away but i thougt it funny because you now talk of streetsouvenirs.
Wish you a lovely weekend Andrea.
Tomorrow klaproos is teaching me photography.

I love these paintings of Paris life so much, Andrea! This one with the dogs is perfect as there are a lot of dog owners there to be sure! This painting is wonderful and it sounds as though you have some other lovely paintings planned!
As for the dog poo! If you do not clean it up after your dog here, you are fined. In some places bags and disposal bins are provided for you to get rid of the offense. When we lived in England, everyone was incredibly polite about cleaning up after their dogs, even in the forest area. I don’t remember seeing a lot of poo when I have been in Paris, but maybe I haven’t been to the right places, either!
Here is to clean Paris Streets and Parks!
I know that in all big cities there are dogs, but in Paris there are a lot of them, which is nice I think cause you can study their behaviours as civilized pets, and that of their owners:)
I absolutely LOVE this painting. How very Parisian. and how Oregonian too. We have laws and bags out around areas here, but some just dont seem to care and leave it. Ruins it for the rest of us that do clean up. I look forward to more of what you do.
) Thank you once again. xoxo Cris
And thanks so much for thinking of me . You did tell me already and I was so touched that you thought of me. I look forward to getting them.
Cris, they put out those laws and bags here too, but the bags are only in certain, rare places, and the laws not applied, so…what can you do:)
