Square "Tolstoi" – view from a bench

Every morning I get some exercise in the fresh air, walking half an hour and then stretching, in this little mini-park called Square Tolstoï. On Sunday, I went there with my sketchbook, not to exercise but to draw one of those lamp-posts I love. The perspective is somehow confusing… I have trouble with perspective. But I love this lamp.

Meanwhile I’m still working at two more poppy paintings. Just so you know.

  1. The square is totally charming and part of the charm of the drawing comes from the perspective. More poppies–don’t become addicted. :)

  7. Kim:) thanks so much for calling me a good girl:) and I tap myself on the shoulder every morning. But it helps me to stay zen and to get oxygen in my lungs, I hope I’ll be as assiduous when the real winter comes along…And the poppies: They take a bit longer, cause more technique, loveAndrea

  9. Of course you are a good girl! And even if the weather is not to your liking, I bet you will find another way to get yourself to move a bit. :) I am enjoying my yoga more and more these days, again! Oh, those poppies…well, you grab the time when they want to come of the end of your pen and brush. That is what makes them so very special…not the technique, but the part of you which is there!Hugs!

  11. You make it look easy…the perspective looks fine to me…So exciting to be seeing Paris through your art tools. And looking forward to the more poppies painted too. ;-) Maybe you’ll paint some orange California Poppies some time too?

  13. oh this is a charming drawing. Lovely lamp. You said you would draw it one day. You should photograph it too. The perspective seems fine to me. It is after all YOUR drawing. Doesnt have to be exact. Look forward to seeing the poppies. :)
